Visit Marion Center

A comfortable and relaxing country getaway awaits you at a Marion Center, Pennsylvania bed and breakfast. Located in Indiana County approximately an hour from Pittsburgh, this peaceful rural community is a wonderful place to rest your body, renew your mind and rejuvenate your spirit. Yet, Marion Center is also just a short drive from Indiana, PA, home to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, (IUP) making a nice lodging alternative for parents visiting students for a weekend.

Marion Center was incorporated in 1869, then known as "Marion." Back in 1856 the post office was opened in Marion but it was named "Brady. " These two different names caused a great deal of confusion. In 1891 both the town and the post office were renamed to Marion Center. There was a large steam gristmill in Marion Center. It had a capacity of 75 barrels a day of flour and 100 barrels a day of buckwheat.

Today, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking, biking and cross-country skiing on the nearby Ghost Town Trail, an historic 36 mile National Recreation Trail, while area parks provide opportunities for fishing, boating, picnicking, and birdwatching.

However you choose to spend your days in the Marion Center area, be sure to spend your evenings resting in the cozy surroundings of a PA Mid-State Bed and Breakfast. We would be honored to host your visit.
